RICHMOND - Americans for Prosperity, the nation's premier grassroots organization fighting for limited government and free markets, today praised U.S. Senator Jim Webb for putting the interests of everyday Virginia taxpayers ahead of the Washington special interests pushing for cap-and-trade.

WASHINGTON – The free market grassroots organization Americans for Prosperity (AFP) today chastised California Democratic Senator and chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee Barbara Boxer for pulling a fast one on the American people. The timing of the markup was an outrage considering the massive government takeover of health care that is in full swing in both chambers. Boxer passed the bill out of committee over the opposition and boycott of all seven of the committee’s Republicans.

AFP was reacting to an email sent out under FCC Spokeswoman Jen Howard’s name by Free Press discussing FCC’s intent to advance net neutrality regulations. Free Press is a well-known advocate of government intervention in the Internet and Howard’s attempt to have one foot in and one foot out of government at the same time is outrageous.
