As John Marshall, the first chief justice of the Supreme Court famously said: “The power to tax is the power to destroy.” High taxes destroy the incentive to work, save, and invest and undermine growth and prosperity.

Our complex federal tax code wastes hundreds of billions of dollars every year in compliance costs. Taxes need to be lower and simpler, and we need to eliminate the double taxation of savings and investment, end the death tax, and allow Americans to keep more of their own money.
