Let Them Eat Cake!
I must say that this healthcare battle has been going on for quite some time. Conservatives have fought non-stop to push back against Obama’s healthcare law. During the past year Americans for Prosperity has worked diligently with our activists urging Governor Corbett to come out against the creation of a state based exchange. We have travelled the state educating citizens about the yearly cost of $10- $100 million to run an exchange which would be laid at the feet of Pennsylvania taxpayers if our Governor chose to go this route.
Last night I had planned on giving this same presentation to the Citizens for Liberty in Conshohocken, PA. Those plans were abruptly changed when we learned of Governor Corbett’s announcement that indeed Pennsylvania would not create a state based exchange. So what does a good conservative do with a presentation that was just sidelined by great news? This good conservative said, “Get some cake!” And that we did! Our activists were high-fiving each other and giving
each other hugs with the news of the day. You all worked so hard over the past year and this is a moment to certainly celebrate! Thank you to Citizens for Liberty for inviting us to your meeting last night. I hope you enjoyed the cake!
