Health Exchanges are on? PA Insurance Commissioner Testimony

September 18, 2012 J

Last week Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Michael Consedine testified before the Committee on Ways and Means, Subcommittee on Health in Washington, DC.

The PA Insurance Commissioner testified before Congress last week about PA’s attempts to create an Exchange and the issues poised due to lacking HHS guidance. He also wrote a letter to Secretary Sebelius in August highlighting some questions.

The testimony still suggests that Gov. Corbett and PA would like to create an Exchange.  As Mr. Consedine stated, “PA needs final rules and guidance on Exchanges in order for us to determine what course is best for our state.”
