Friedman Legacy for Freedom Day Picnic and Patriot Camp in Harrisburg
July 31, 2012 would have been Milton Friedman’s 100th birthday. To honor his vision and the impact he has had on our society, Americans for Prosperity Foundation’s Pennsylvania Chapter is holding a family picnic in his honor.
Families from across the Susquehanna Valley will enjoy a free picnic, a birthday cake in honor of Dr. Friedman’s 100th birthday and a special mini Patriot camp compliments of the Constituional Champions Foundation. This will be a time to celebrate one of the great economists of our time, his love of freedom and how that freedom was fought for by our Founding Fathers. Children will experience what it was like for George Washington’s troops as they marched through the cold winter and much more!
Where: Fort Hunter Park – West Pavilion, 5300 N. Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17110
Date: Tuesday, July 31st

Milton Friedman was a staunch advocate of school choice for families. Dr. Friedman concentrated on promoting educational freedom through school choice policies, which allow parents to choose the public or private school that is best for their children. Dr. Friedman is well known as the father of the modern school choice movement. Statistics like this from the U.S. Department of Education are alarming: less than 25% of students tested proficient in US history in 2010, with only 12% of high school seniors showing “solid academic performance” in US History. In memory of the doctor let’s teach some American history!
Join us for a funfilled evening! Our pavilion overlooks the Susquehanna River so make sure you pack bug spray.
