Governor Corbett: Where's the Leadership?
Pennsylvania has two decisions to make when it comes to Obama’s health care law:
1) Do we create a health insurance exchange or no?
2) Do we expand Medicaid or no?
Governor Corbett came out the day of the Supreme Court ruling with no real plan except that they will move forward with implementing the law in Pennsylvania. There was no mention of the health exchange nor expansion of Medicaid.
But now we are hearing more from the Governor from PA Independent….
“Gov. Tom Corbett wouldn’t say if Pennsylvania would be one of the states to move forward with the Medicaid expansion under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
But, he said the cost would be ‘exceptionally high.’
PA Independent asked Corbett about the law at a Friday afternoon press conference in Shippensburg.
‘I can tell you we are looking at what it would cost Pennsylvania, and when I say Pennsylvania, I’m talking about everyone in here and everyone in the state, what it’s going to cost the taxpayers,” he said, gesturing to the room. “I know the cost to Pennsylvania, and the cost to the nation, is exceptionally high.’”
Americans for Prosperity encourages the Governor to come out against creating the Obama health exchanges but to also not expand Medicaid in Pennsylvania.
