To stop Cap-and-Trade we are presenting a series of educational seminars throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The first ten (10) seminars will lead up to AFP’s Anti Cap-and-Tax Rally and Americans for Prosperity Foundation’s national RightOnline online activism conference in Pittsburgh August 14-15. The rally will send a message to Pennsylvania’s two moderate senators Arlen Specter and Bob Casey that there is increasing sentiment to defeat Cap-and-Trade and stand up for American families.

Americans for Prosperity took its message to the states and continued its re-launch of the Hot Air Tour in Erie, Pennsylvania on April 30. A crowd of citizen-activists gathered at First Family Sports Park to hear about the biggest tax hike in the nation’s history hidden inside cap and trade legislation proposed by President Obama and Nancy Pelosi.

Kudos to Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) on passage of his amendment to the FAA reauthorization bill to ban federal funding of future aviation projects named after members of Congress, by an overwhelming vote of 417 to 2. Good news for taxpayers, who have enough of monuments-to-me of all shapes and sizes, including airports.

Unfortunately, Congress failed to go a step further and stop funding the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport, with a motion to recommit that would have done that failing 154-263.
