Mr. President Can Run, But He Can't Hide: AFP Still Holds Rally In Portland
Obama may be running scared, but we aren’t. Americans for Prosperity is still planning on holding our rally when the President comes to Portland on Tuesday, July 24th in the South Park Blocks, but it will be in two stages.
We will meet in the South Park Blocks between SW Columbia and SW Clay and SW 9th at 11:00 am to hear our outstanding line-up of speakers. The program will begin at 11:10 with Jeff Kropf of Oregon Citizens Watch; Mark Eitzen, VP and General Manager of Gunderson Marine; Sandy Messerle, South Coast Development Council (Coos Bay); Gordon Fulks, PhD.; and others. This will be a very informative program about coal with the real facts on the impacts to Oregon’s and SW Washington’s economy the potential for thousands of jobs.
To make our presence known after the formal program, we will ask folks to make their way to the Oregon Convention Center where the Obama fundraiser is now scheduled to take place. Around 12:30pm we will come back together on the corner of NE Holladay St and NE Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. You can ride MAX to that area from downtown, carpool or drive your vehicle to the area. This stage of the protest will be unpermitted, so please stay on the sidewalks and don’t block the streets or pedestrians. We will have signs or make your own and let folks know “It’s About Jobs and Economic Liberty”.
He can run (or change venues) but he can’t hide!
