AFP- Oregon to Hold Protest Rally, Mr. President
As you may have heard, President Barack Obama will be visiting Portland, this Tuesday, July 24th. AFP-OR would like to welcome him by telling him IT’S TIME TO PUT AMERICA BACK TO WORK!
Oregon can no longer allow government to pick our economic winners and losers. So, we will be highlighting the potential creation of thousands of living wage jobs for Oregon if we embrace the export of coal from our ports. With this in mind, come join AFP-OR at our protest rally to tell the President that Oregon needs government to move out of the way so we can put people back to work.
Please join us and bring your friends to the “It’s About Jobs and Economic Freedom” protest rally. When: Tuesday, July 24, 11 am to 2 pm. Speakers will begin at noon. Where: South Park, Downtown Portland (between SW Columbia and SW Clay and between SW 9th and SW Park Ave.) Homemade signs are welcomed and encouraged; however, we ask that you stick to economic issues. We will provide you with extra rally signs and AFP t-shirt for the first 100 who show up. Note: This is going to be a peaceful gathering, so please make sure to refrain from personal attacks and make sure that our focus is about the economic issues that we care so deeply about. If confronted by others with opposing views, please do not engage them. Have questions or need more info? Please e-mail Karla Kay Edwards at kedwards@afphq.org. Hope to see you there!
