Conflict of Interest: Stuart Jolly's New Op-Ed on the "Oklahoma Municipal League"

June 08, 2012

What is the Oklahoma Municipal League (OML) doing with your tax dollars?

Among other activities, they are lobbying to raise your property taxes. Americans for Prosperity – Oklahoma State Director Stuart Jolly explains in an oped for the Edmond Sun how the OML takes money from Oklahoma cities and then uses that money to lobby for causes that many taxpayers oppose.

“You are, in essence, forced to fund your opposition as the OML advocates for laws which broaden the powers of eminent domain and add property tax to cities’ taxing authority, all while lobbying for more of your tax dollars.”
