Oklahoma City, OK – Matt Ball, State Director for Americans for Prosperity-Oklahoma (AFP-OK) released the following statement in response to Governor Mary Fallin’s announcement that the Obama administration has agreed to a one-year extension for Insure Oklahoma:
“AFP strongly commends Governor Fallin’s leadership in negotiating an extension of the Insure Oklahoma program in its current form. Her willingness to stand strong for Oklahoma should be applauded, given the uncertainty surrounding Obamacare implementation and further unwarranted federal intrusion into the health care marketplace.
“This development demonstrates precisely why states should continue seeking self reliance and flexibility, rather than become increasingly dependent on federal health care funding through Obamacare Medicaid expansion.
“AFP-OK and its coalition partners will continue to urge lawmakers and state leaders to reject Obamacare Medicaid expansion in all of its forms, including the recently released Leavitt Partners report, and to pursue solutions that actually drive down health care costs.”
