AFP release "Lame Duck Hunt"

Retro-Themed Game Allows Gamers to Bag Bad Policies

ARLINGTON, VA – Americans for Prosperity (AFP), the nation’s leading grassroots organization in championing economic freedom, recently released its most innovative educational outreach message yet, in the form of a computer game titled “Lame Duck Hunt.” In Lame Duck Hunt, free-market economic policy meets today’s techie culture and scores!

AFP’s Lame Duck Hunt computer game is a fun, retro-themed way for citizens to become informed about the looming tax hikes and spending reductions that the lame duck session of Congress will face. Lame Duck Hunt is available to play here.

“Sometimes it’s good to have a little fun,” said Tim Phillips, AFP president. “We’re working hard to offer something different that helps inform the young and young-at-heart about solid economic policy in the classic all-American style of computer games.”

Gamers will have to work fast to keep bad policies from being enacted – every duck that escapes represents a bad policy. For every duck successfully bagged though, a bad policy is defeated.

The game also encourages players to take action beyond the game, offering them a chance after every level to write a message to their Representative indicating their opposition to bad economic policies such as income tax hikes and the death tax.

In the lame duck session, AFP is urging its activists to petition their Representatives to oppose any tax hike and follow through on the sequestration agreement and cut $109 billion in spending from the 2013 budget.

AFP recently launched NoFreeVotes.com, which helps educate citizens on these issues and provides a way to directly contact lawmakers. AFP has also released an infographic that explains the looming $495 billion tax hike if Congress fails to act.
