new face for freedom
I am pleased to announce a new addition to our AFP Ohio team. Jim Shaw recently joined AFP as a Field Coordinator.
Jim will be covering Columbiana, Mahoning, Trumbull, Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga, Portage, Stark, and Wayne counties.
Jim was born and raised in East Liverpool, Ohio. After high school, Jim moved to the Youngstown area to attend college and work. During his time attending Youngstown State University, he served as the YSU College Republican Vice-President before going on to serve as President. During college, Jim also interned on a Congressional primary campaign and was a very active volunteer for the McCain campaign in 2008 as well as volunteering for several local campaigns.
In 2010, Jim headed the efforts to reform the Mahoning County Young Republicans while also working on an Ohio House of Representatives campaign. In 2011, the Mahoning County Young Republicans were recognized for their fundraising efforts at the Ohio Young Republican Convention thanks in large part to the integral role Jim played in gathering members and fundraising for the group. In 2012, Jim was elected to his first-term as Executive Vice-Chair of the Ohio Young Republicans. He worked successfully with the Regional Vice-Chairs to aide in the formation of new YR clubs around the state. Jim received his Bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and his Master’s degree from The University of Akron. He currently resides near East Liverpool.
If you would like to talk to Jim about issues or invite him to events in the area, please email him at firstname.lastname@example.org. And be sure to follow him on Twitter at @_JWShaw_.
Please join me in welcoming Jim to the AFP Ohio team!
