A speaker you don't want to miss on AFP Foundation's Running on Empty tour
Politico reported yesterday that Ohio Coal Association President Mike Carey is “a one-man wrecking ball” for politicians who have strayed too far green.
In addition to heading up Ohio’s Coal Association, Mike wears many hats in the fight against the liberal’s agenda to kill affordable energy in Ohio and the United States. According to Politico:
Then there’s the American Council for Affordable and Reliable Energy, an industry group that Carey leads with a broader mandate to comment on oil, gas and other fossil fuel issues.
Under the ACARE banner, Carey called in September for Interior Secretary Ken Salazars resignation in response to a POLITICO Arena query about the Obama administration officials future.
“Salazar has continued to let the green agenda, and not reality, drive the agenda at the Interior Department,” Carey wrote. “From oil leases in Utah to oil shale exploration in the West, Salazar ignores facts about safely utilizing domestic fuel to pander to Obamas base. Salazar should resign as Interior secretary, but not for his handling of the Gulf disaster, but for the disaster of his own making.”
Politico further reported that “Carey isn’t afraid to be strong in his convictions on energy policy” and that his “next big act come 2012 likely entails turning climate change, air pollution and mining policies into a coal state… albatross for Obama…”
