Americans for Prosperity Ohio: ObamaCare is Off the Track

October 30, 2013

COLUMBUS – Americans for Prosperity – Ohio is commenting on today’s testimony by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius regarding the roll-out of ObamaCare.

“Prior to the October 1 launch, we were assured that everything was on track for the launch of ObamaCare.  Now, everyone, including President Obama has admitted this was clearly not the case.  The ObamaCare website rollout has been a disaster by any measurement and demonstrated an unfortunate lack of accountability by the Administration” said Eli Miller, State Director of Americans for Prosperity Ohio.  “In addition to the website failures, the ObamaCare policy itself has been a disaster – wreaking havoc on the health care and financial futures of too many Ohioans by increasing their health care costs while reducing their options.  Hardly the accessible and affordable act we were promised.”

Secretary Sebelius testified today before the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

“The ObamaCare roll out has been a series of disastrous disappointments and delays.  Now Secretary Sebelius wants us to believe these issues will be resolved soon.  On what basis should we believe her?  What credibility does anyone within the Administration have with regard to what we can expect in the weeks and months ahead?,” added Miller.  “ObamaCare is off the track.  How can the same people who drove the train off track with arbitrary and unrealistic deadlines and expectations be expected to right it?  How can we trust them to collect our personal information and run a healthcare system?”
