"With many states struggling with the current economic situation, now is the perfect time to elevate our rankings nationally while other states are simply not in the position to do so," said AFP-ND State Policy Director Dustin Gawrylow. "North Dakota must position itself as a place that entrepreneurs can come and create new businesses and not be hit by burdensome state income taxes that reduce the amount of reinvestment that can be made into their businesses."

"This group is just singing the same old class warfare song that we hear from those in favor of perpetual tax revenue growth. They brazenly claim that letting people keep more of their own money is somehow a bad thing. In fact, just a quick check of their website shows that this liberal group has never met a tax hike it didn't love."

We believe the original ballot title as written by the Attorney General on July 17th, 2007 accurately portrays the intent of the sponsoring committee, the petition signers, and of the initiated measure itself. Voters should not be deterred from voting themselves a tax cut by confusing commentary added to the ballot language more than a year after the ballot language was previously approved.
