AFP-North Carolina Announces New State Director John Dudley
Brings Private Sector Experience to North Carolina’s Fight for Limited Government
Raleigh—Americans for Prosperity-North Carolina announced today that John Dudley has been named the organization’s new State Director.
“John Dudley is an experienced businessman who has seen the havoc that overregulation and out of control spending has on the economy,” explained Tim Phillips, President of Americans for Prosperity. “While we face big challenges ahead, like passing a state constitutional amendment on private property rights, we know John and the entire North Carolina team will be a capable and effective force for economic freedom.”
John stepped up to the challenge after realizing that North Carolina is ground zero for the fight to protect the taxpayer from government overreach.
“North Carolina has become a leader among the states in advancing economic freedom by checking government spending and passing meaningful tax relief,” said Dudley. “However, our work is far from done. The perils of government interference – like eminent domain abuse and overregulation – are not unique to any one state. I have seen how government intervention affects the livelihood of real Americans from every walk of life. I want to help more North Carolinians experience economic freedom and prosperity and make North Carolina a beacon for the rest of the nation.”
Dudley brings decades of private sector experience to AFP, having led the Merger Integration Team that brought together GTE and Bell Atlantic and formed Verizon Communications, then the largest merger in telecom history.
Upon leaving Verizon in 2004, Dudley served as Chief Development Officer for the Greater Carolinas American Red Cross in Charlotte, NC, the largest chapter in the state.
