AFP Launches 'Broken Promises' Ad
As reports continue to surface about millions of Americans having their insurance plans canceled, Americans for Prosperity is launching a new web ad that highlights President Obama’s broken promise that, “if you like your plan, you can keep it.”
A central promise of ObamaCare was that Americans could keep the plans they already had. Now we’re finding out that was a promise the Administration never intended to keep. Amid a massively inept rollout, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Watch “Broken Promises” HERE
“We Will Keep This Promise To The American People: If You Like Your Doctor, You Will Be Able To Keep Your Doctor, Period. If You Like Your Health Care Plan, You’ll Be Able To Keep Your Health Care Plan, Period.” (President Barack Obama, “Remarks By The President At The Annual Conference Of The American Medical Association,” The White House, 6/15/09)
Experts Estimate That Up To 80 Percent Of The 14 Millions Americans Who Buy Their Insurance Individually Could Lose Their Existing Coverage. “Four sources deeply involved in the Affordable Care Act tell NBC News that 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a ‘cancellation’ letter or the equivalent over the next year because their existing policies don’t meet the standards mandated by the new health care law. One expert predicts that number could reach as high as 80 percent. And all say that many of those forced to buy pricier new policies will experience ‘sticker shock.’” (Lisa Myers And Hannah Rappleye, “Obama Administration Knew Millions Could Not Keep Their Health Insurance,” NBC News, 10/29/13)
The Obama Administration Has Known For At Least Three Years That Millions Of Americans Would Lose Their Existing Coverage. “President Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after the Affordable Care Act became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years.” (Lisa Myers And Hannah Rappleye, “Obama Administration Knew Millions Could Not Keep Their Health Insurance,” NBC News, 10/29/13)
