AFP Calls On Hagan To Come Clean On ObamaCare Promises
Conservative group wants Senator Hagan to apologize for the law’s problems and not shift the blame

Raleigh – Americans for Prosperity – North Carolina is continuing to put pressure on Senator Hagan for her support for ObamaCare, in the face of her recent efforts to deflect blame for her broken promise that “if you like your health plan, you can keep it.”

State Director Chris Farr explains why it is a simple decision to keep spending the resources to keep this ad on the air:

“Senator Hagan can spin it however she likes, but North Carolinians oppose this law and don’t appreciate that she has broken her repeated promise that people would get to keep the health insurance plans they liked. Polls show that 54 percent of North Carolinians oppose this law, while only 36 percent are in favor. A primary reason for the opposition is because voters feel like they were lied to by their lawmakers – like Senator Hagan – not their insurance companies.”

“More than 470,000 North Carolinians have had their insurance plans terminated, despite the promises from their US Senator and President that they could keep their plan if they like it. Insurance companies have reinstated those plans, but these same people will face higher prices on the plans they had and will lose those plans all over again at the end of 2014.”

“It’s time for Senator Hagan to stop playing politics while real people are losing their insurance and doctors and watching their premiums skyrocket.”

Americans for Prosperity’s ad highlights that opposition to ObamaCare is not about politics, but the real people who are suffering due to the law’s effects. The ad is part of a nationwide wave of ads released by AFP, which will total $4 million, in Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, and North Carolina. It is currently running in the Charlotte, Greensboro, Greenville, Raleigh and Wilmington media markets.
