Hundreds of Activists Rally in Denver to Rein in EPA
After Energetic Rally, Dustin Zvonek Delivers Testimony Against Proposed Carbon Rules at EPA Hearing
DENVER – Roughly 500 activists, miners, and other concerned Coloradans, most wearing red t-shirts, sent a message to the EPA and lawmakers at the “Stop the EPA Power Grab” rally yesterday in Denver co-hosted by Americans for Prosperity. The activists oppose the new carbon rules proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency which will drive up electricity rates and destroy jobs in coal-reliant states like Colorado. Today Dustin Zvonek delivered testimony at the EPA hearing, explaining in detail the impact of the rule on Colorado.
“We hope the EPA truly listens during today’s hearing to the many Coloradans who oppose these misguided, economically foolish proposed rules,” explained Dustin Zvonek, Colorado State Director of Americans for Prosperity. “If they won’t listen to common sense, we expect Congress to exercise their statutory authority and rein in the EPA and stop these rules from being imposed. Yesterday’s rally demonstrated that Coloradans will hold their elected leaders in Washington accountable if they do not stand up to the out-of-control EPA.”
