Americans for Prosperity to Host “National Prosperity Action Weekend”
AFP activists will call over 8 million and knock over 100,000 doors by the end of October
Arlington, VA – Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s leading grassroots advocate for economic freedom and limited government, will host a “National Prosperity Action Weekend” on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19. This nationwide event will harness the combined strength of AFP field staff, volunteers, activists, and coalition partners to make hundreds of thousands of phone calls and knock on thousands of doors for economic freedom. Already in October AFP volunteers have knocked more than 25,000 doors and made more than 2 million phone calls.
“Our activists are passionate and focused on letting other Americans know about the big government policies of President Obama that have led to record spending, record debt and fewer jobs,” explained Tim Phillips, President of Americans for Prosperity. “Americans care deeply about the economic issues facing our country and for those who want to do something about it, this weekend will give them a chance to get involved. We’re focused on educating people about Obama’s Failing Agenda.”
The phone banks will be hosted at over 80 AFP field offices around the country, each using the advanced “Freedom Phones” technology. The door knocking will be using the state-of-the-art “Prosperity Knocks” online system.
With the gains made this weekend and throughout the month AFP volunteers are closing in on 8 million phone calls made and over 100,000 doors knocked throughout 2012. The National Prosperity Action Weekend is a coalition effort supported by multiple fiscally conservative organizations including 60 Plus, Concerned Woman for America, and the National Rifle Association.
