AFP Statement on February Jobs Numbers

March 08, 2013

Arlington, VA – Today Americans for Prosperity president Tim Phillips issued the following statement:

“The jobs report today reminds us again that President Obama is presiding over the slowest economic recovery since the Great Depression. Some 20 million Americans are still looking for work, and at recent growth rates, the jobs gap may not even close in the next decade.

“Years of government overspending do not and cannot create lasting prosperity. Rather, as the past few years have amply demonstrated, true economic growth is stunted and unemployment remains unnecessarily high.

“Sadly, President Obama seems determined to tax and spend his way to an ever larger, more cumbersome federal government.”
