AFP; Opposed to all Carbon Taxes

July 01, 2012

AFP President Tim Phillips made this statement:

“More than 600 current lawmakers and candidates for elected office have signed Americans for Prosperity’s No Climate Tax pledge, assuring their constituents that they would ‘oppose any legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.’

“This group includes seven governors, the entire U.S. House majority leadership team, more than 150 U.S. representatives and more than 20 senators.

“In addition to guarding against hidden revenue increases, AFP is opposed to a carbon tax in any form.  AFP remains committed to ensuring all Americans have access to affordable, dependable and abundant forms of energy.  We also remain committed to exposing any attempt to pass hidden tax hikes in environmental legislation.”
