Opponents of President Barack Obama’s health care law are planning to rally on Capitol Hill a week from Tuesday as the Supreme Court takes up whether the legislation is unconstitutional.
Grassroots group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is organizing its “Hands Off My Health Care” rally in Washington, D.C. on March 27. (RELATED: Full coverage of the health care law)
It’ll feel like a reunion of the tea party protests of 2009 and 2010: Speakers will include Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.
Levi Russell, a spokesman for AFP, told The Daily Caller that the group is also helping to organize rallies in other states. They will broadcast them on the group’s Facebook page.
“This will definitely be a nationwide event, not just something for Capitol Hill,” Russell said in a recent interview.
