Join us in Albany for a Rally and Lobbying Day in Support of the Property Tax Cap
As jobs and families are fleeing our state, the State Assembly fails to act on the Governors 2% Property Tax Cap that will give taxpayers and businesses some relief from out of control property tax increases.
New York has the highest local taxes in the country 79 percent above the national average. Taxpayers saw their property taxes rise 73 percent from 1998 through 2008, more than twice the rate of inflation. It is no wonder that 9 of the top 10 counties in the nation with the highest property taxes rates when measured against home values are located here in New York State.
It is time for the Assembly to act now!

The Assembly must be urged to vote on this legislation. With passage of this bill, it will tackle one of our states biggest problems: over taxation of real property. Also, an enactment of a Property Tax Cap will further highlight the need for significant mandate relief that will give local governments and school districts the flexibility they need to restructure their budgets.
Please join us in Albany on Tuesday, May 10th!
