Join us in Albany for a Rally and Lobbying Day in Support of the Property Tax Cap

May 03, 2011 J

As jobs and families are fleeing our state, the State Assembly fails to act on the Governor’s 2% Property Tax Cap that will give taxpayers and businesses some relief from out of control property tax increases.

New York has the highest local taxes in the country – 79 percent above the national average. Taxpayers saw their property taxes rise 73 percent from 1998 through 2008, more than twice the rate of inflation. It is no wonder that 9 of the top 10 counties in the nation with the highest property taxes rates when measured against home values are located here in New York State.
