FARMINGTON — Americans for Prosperity kicked off the state portion of a nationwide tour in Farmington on Thursday.

Approximately 30 people attended a rally in Orchard Park criticizing President Barack Obama’s policies. They also were trying to spread a message aimed at promoting limited government.

“We developed the idea that we are free people,” said State Sen. Bill Sharer. “That idea is what makes America… The free market is what has truly set us free.”

The Obama’s Failing Agenda Tour began on Aug. 27 in Florida and made 50 stops across the country in North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Colorado and New Mexico. The organization is collecting signatures on a petition criticizing Obama’s health care, taxation and spending policies.
