Americans for Prosperity Announced New Mexico State Chapter
Santa Fe Native Joseph Montes will lead State Chapter
SANTA FE- Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s premier advocate of economic freedom with boots on the ground in 35 states, is pleased to announce the establishment of its newest state chapter in New Mexico. Santa Fe native Joseph Montes will lead the fight for freedom as New Mexico’s State Director.
“Joe has an extensive record of economic development and first-hand knowledge of the challenges businesses in our country face each and every day,” said Tim Phillips, President of Americans for Prosperity. “A fervent free market advocate, Joe is well-equipped to lead the charge for free-market issues in New Mexico and we’re proud to welcome him aboard.”
As a business development and economic policy consultant, Montes has spent his life working to improve entrepreneurial and small business development at the national and regional levels. He served in the Administrations of Presidents Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush and has also managed humanitarian assistance and law enforcement training programs in Central America and the Caribbean region.
AFP-New Mexico will be working aggressively to educate and mobilize citizens from across the state to be involved in their government on the local, state, and federal levels. Moreover, AFP-New Mexico will work to protect taxpayer dollars and bring desperately needed jobs and economic growth back to the state.
“As Washington wastes billions of our hard-earned tax dollars on failed economic policies and boondoggles such as Solyndra, New Mexicans continue to suffer through very difficult economic hardships,” said Joe Montes, AFP-New Mexico State Director. “I will be working hard to give a voice to New Mexico taxpayers and ensure they are in-the-know about key issues affecting their homes, businesses, and our great state.”
