State Taxes and Government Spending

From 1960 to 2009, per capita New Mexico state government spending grew from $1,715 to $8,539.  That’s $8,539 for each man, woman and child in the state.

These figures come from the US census bureau and those numbers show that state spending during those years raised New Mexico’s state debt by over $8 billion dollars
