New Jerseyans are working more than a third of the year just to pay their taxes at all levels of government. Tax Freedom Day doesn’t come until May 4, 124 days into the year!

That’s just crazy.

So, what would it take to get back a week’s pay? To reduce the number of days New Jerseyans work to pay their taxes from 124 days to 117 days? How about just a 2% across-the-board cut in government spending at the federal, state and local level?

For many American families, they’ve had to cut back far more than 2% in the last few years. Worse yet, many Americans still are struggling to find a job and make ends meet.

The fact of the matter is our suffocating tax burden is one of the biggest reasons unemployment is still at 9% in New Jersey and so many of our friends and neighbors are heading for the exits.

Government at all levels is diminishing our quality of life and making it impossible to thrive in New Jersey. Hard-working New Jerseyans should not have to wait until May 4 to break the shackles of Big Government!

So, if you’re tired of the high taxes and runaway spending, make your voice heard! Join AFP in Trenton on Thursday, May 2 and let’s ramp up the grassroots pressure on politicians in Trenton to start cutting the size of state government! Let’s fight to bring prosperity back to the Garden State!
