ObamaCare and Trenton: Twin Job-Killers
Disastrous Health Care Law Not Only Reason for Poor Jobs Numbers
BOGOTA, NJ – Americans for Prosperity state director Daryn Iwicki has issued the following statement in lieu of another round of lackluster jobs news.
“Today the jobs report came out and unfortunately it was more bad news for Americans across the country,” said Iwicki. “The sad reality is the disastrous, unworkable ObamaCare law is hanging like a black cloud over job growth and continues to force many companies to cut hours and jobs of hard-working Americans across the country.
“The President has had nearly five years to help the nation recover from the recession but it’s clear his signature health care law and the administration’s Keyenesian fiscal policies are like kryptonite for our jobs market and economy.
“Here in New Jersey, so long as our Legislature led by Steve Sweeney (D-3) and Sheila Oliver (D-34) continue to advance their Keynesian tax-and-spend schemes New Jersey has and will continue to hurt. Several major corporations have already left or announced they are leaving, putting our state on the slow train to recovery and the fast train to a heavier financial burden of the few who remain. And our unemployment rate remains at an unacceptable 8.5%, worst in the region and more than a point above the national average.”
“New Jersey’s economy is stagnating and our jobs market is lagging because the big-government policies emanating from Trenton over the last decade are hurting New Jersey families, workers and job creators. Much like Florida, Texas, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, our liberal Legislature needs to change course and focus on pro-growth, free- market policies that will pave the way toward a more prosperous future.”
