Opinion: N.J. drivers should rise up against gas tax hike, focus on lowering road costs instead
“Proponents of raising the gas tax are firing up their engines. If New Jersey motorists don’t rise up, they will be run over by a massive hike.
It is true the Transportation Trust Fund has been depleted over the years and both parties share in the blame; Republicans and Democrats have raided the fund to balance budgets. The state has relied on borrowing billions of dollars to maintain our infrastructure and now our bonding capacity is at its limit.”
