AFP Launches New TV Ad: “We Can Do Better!”
Pro-Taxpayer Group Takes Aim at Trenton’s Failing Big-Government Agenda
NOTE: See below for two versions of AFP’s new ad.
BOGOTA, NJ – Ten years of liberal, big-government policies in Trenton are failing New Jerseyans. That’s the message Americans for Prosperity aims to get across to Garden State residents with the launch of a new TV ad set to begin airing today across the state.
“Hard-working New Jerseyans know that it’s getting tougher and tougher to get by in New Jersey and they can feel their quality of life here is deteriorating,” said Daryn Iwicki, deputy state director of AFP’s New Jersey chapter. “With this ad buy, AFP will be letting them know that the blame rests squarely with the liberal leadership that’s controlled the Legislature for more than a decade.”
“New Jerseyans are fed up with the crushing tax burden here and they are longing for tax relief, especially from our outrageous property tax burden,” continued Iwicki. “And they want to see our state fostering an environment where jobs will be created.”
“Instead, for the past ten-plus years Trenton’s liberal leadership hasn’t listened. The end result of their reckless agenda of higher taxes, higher spending and more debt has been a stagnant economy and sky high unemployment. These policies are driving people out and forcing great companies like Hertz and others to flee to business-friendlier states taking thousands of jobs with them.”
“Trenton is the problem here in New Jersey and we are committed to bringing the kind of grassroots pressure on lawmakers to change course. We want people to know we can do better if those representing us in Trenton start lowering taxes and reining in an overbearing and meddlesome state government.”
