New TV Ads to Kuster and Shaheen: ObamaCare not Working in NH

July 17, 2014

MANCHESTER – Americans for Prosperity – New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today began airing two new ads reminding Representative Ann Kuster and Senator Jeanne Shaheeen of the destructive impact the Affordable Care Act, commonly called ObamaCare, is having on New Hampshire.  The new Shaheen ad also notes how a bill Senator Shaheen sponsored as a New Hampshire state senator (SB 711, 1994) chased 21 insurers out of the state.  Both ads highlight how 10 of New Hampshire’s 26 hospitals are no longer covered under ObamaCare, meaning longer drives and wait times for people needing care.  When asked what she would change about ObamaCare, Kuster could not name a single thing.

“Senator Shaheen has a 20 year record of undermining health care choice in New Hampshire, from her disastrous law that drove over 20 insurers out of the state to supporting ObamaCare, which cut access to over one third on Granite State hospitals,” explained Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director.  “Now, people are paying more and getting less for their health care.”

“The facts are clear: New Hampshire residents face longer drives and longer waits because 10 hospitals are not covered under ObamaCare, and yet Rep. Kuster and Sen. Shaheen still support this broken law. Rep. Kuster even has the audacity to say she can’t think of any aspect that she would change. Do they realize that no state has been harder hit than New Hampshire?

“It’s time for Rep. Kuster and Sen. Shaheen to recognize that ObamaCare simply isn’t working.  We hope they both will listen the constituents who will call them after watching our ads, expressing their concern over the impact to their lives.”

This is just the latest ad holding Rep. Kuster and Sen. Shaheen accountable for their support for the Affordable Care Act. Over the past 8 months, AFP has aired 9 ads holding Sen. Shaheen or Rep. Kuster accountable.
