Americans for Prosperity Supports Senator Ayotte’s Call for ObamaCare “Timeout” after Array of Rollout Failures
MANCHESTER – Americans for Prosperity – New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today commended Senator Kelly Ayotte for her call for a “timeout” on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius described it as a “debacle” of a rollout of the ObamaCare exchange website and an Associate Press report shows that over 3.5 million Americans have already been notified that are losing their health insurance. Additionally, today the Washington Post is reporting that Americans are getting “sticker shock” from massive premium increases as a result of the law.
“A fundamental principle of medical ethics is ‘First, do no harm,’” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director. “Senator Ayotte is exactly right in calling for a timeout from the extraordinary damage being done to millions as a result of ObamaCare. Whether it’s a website that doesn’t work, over 3 million people losing health care coverage with millions more who will also lose it or massive rate increases for the working families of New Hampshire, ObamaCare has been a disaster for the American people. It’s time to stop the harm to the public, and put this flawed law on hold.”
AFP-NH also commended Ayotte for calling for President Obama to join both parties in coming together to find a bipartisan solution for health care.
“It’s time to stop trying to ram an unpopular and destructive law onto the public,” added Moore. “The President needs to come to the understanding that ObamaCare doesn’t work and have the humility to join leaders like Senator Ayotte back at the table to address what’s broken in the health care system, not to turn the whole structure upside down and leave millions of Americans hurting. We need real solutions to allow for patient-centered care, not a one size fits all government-run debachle that undermines the quality of health care for all.”
