Americans for Prosperity-NH Statement on CT Governor Malloy’s Appearance in New Hampshire on Behalf of Obama for America Campaign
WINDHAM – Americans for Prosperity – New Hampshire released the following statement regarding today’s appearance by CT Governor Dan Malloy as a surrogate for the Obama for America campaign.
“In 1991, CT adopted a state income tax that was sold to the taxpayers as a much-needed short-term solution to the state’s budget crisis. Twenty-one years later, the taxpayers of CT labor under one of the heaviest tax burdens in the country and come out near the bottom on survey after survey that rate the states’ fiscal health and outlook making me question why the Obama for America campaign would select Governor Malloy to represent them in NH,” said Corey R. Lewandowski, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire. “All we need to do is look to CT to see what can happen when government takes more of our money and more of our freedom. Governor Malloy’s presence in NH today is a great reminder of why we need to pass the constitutional amendment on the ballot in November banning an income tax in our state.”
