Americans for Prosperity-NH Releases Statewide Radio Ad Detailing Hassan’s Pride Over Tax Increases
WINDHAM – Americans for Prosperity-NH is releasing a statewide radio ad today detailing Maggie Hassan’s self-described “pride” over increasing taxes on New Hampshire families and small businesses in the state when she sponsored the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), a tax on electric rates.
The ad features Hassan at a recent debate stating in her own words, “I was proud to be a sponsor of that tax…” when asked about RGGI.
“Despite the fact that New Hampshire ratepayers were already paying some of the highest electricity rates in the country, Maggie Hassan proudly sponsored legislation that raised their rates and taxed them even more,” said Corey R. Lewandowski, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire. “The policies she is proud of are hurting New Hampshire families and small businesses.”

“We want New Hampshire voters to hear Hassan in her own words,” continued Lewandowski. “Because we believe New Hampshire residents cannot afford any more of Hassan’s tax increases.”
The BIA/Union Leader/NHPR Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on Business & Economy at which Hassan made the statement took place on September 19, 2012.
