Americans for Prosperity New Hampshire: Time to Ban State Income Tax is Now
WINDHAM – Americans for Prosperity-NH is expressing their opposition today to a bill request seeking to establish an income tax in the state by Representative Peter Sullivan.
“Representative Sullivan’s proposed bill establishing an income tax in our state demonstrates the immediate need for NH voters to pass Question 1 this November 6th,” said Corey R. Lewandowski, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire. “If we want to preserve the NH Advantage for future generations, the time to amend our state constitution and permanently ban an income tax is now before Representative Sullivan and Maggie Hassan have the opportunity to raise NH taxes.”
Question 1 is the ballot initiative that would amend the state constitution to prohibit the establishment of a state income tax. The question must receive the support of 2/3rds of eligible voters on November 6th in order to be ratified.
“Representative Sullivan and Maggie Hassan’s support for tax increases and opposition to Question 1 threaten our economy and NH families and small businesses along with it,” continued Lewandowski. “We need to pass Question 1 to protect NH taxpayers from this proposed economic assault.”
