Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire Statement on Legislative Action on CACR 6, CACR 13, HB 1490 and SB 218

June 13, 2012

WINDHAM – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) New Hampshire released the following  statement on today’s legislative action on CACR 6, CACR 13, HB 1490 and SB  218.

“We applaud the legislature’s attempts to make government smaller and taxes  and regulations lower with the passage of CACR 13 and SB 218,” said Corey  Lewandowski, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire.  “We  believe NH voters should have a say over whether or not their taxes can be  raised now and in the future and applaud the House and Senate for giving voters  that opportunity by sending CACR 13 to the ballot this fall.  In addition, we  are pleased that NH residents will likely see a reduction in their electricity  costs as a result of the passage of SB 218.”

“We are of course disappointed in the failure of the House to obtain the  votes necessary to send CACR 6, the super-majority legislation, to the voters  this fall and in the Senate for their vote in support of the compromise RGGI  bill that continues to tie NH residents to this failed program until another  state votes to withdraw.  While the House and Senate finish voting for the  session, the most important votes will be cast this fall at the ballot box.  AFP-New Hampshire will continue to enable voters to make informed decisions by  educating them on the issues that affect economic prosperity.”
