Tell Your Senator: No Income Tax in NH!
First of all, please be aware that the NH Senate is expected to vote AS EARLY AS TODAY on CACR 13 which would prohibit any new tax on personal income in NH.
The House passed CACR 13 in January. If approved by the Senate, CACR 13 would appear on the ballot this November and allow YOU the opportunity to vote to amend the state constitution to ensure that NH residents DO NOT have to pay a personal income tax!
There has been talk that the Senate may amend CACR 13 on the floor. I encourage you to contact your Senator today and urge them to approve CACR 13 as passed by the House!
Please use THIS LINK to find your Senator and their contact information.
Secondly, the House passed SB 289 yesterday which would require photo identification to vote in the Granite State. The House leadership also passed yesterday SB 219, which was amended to prohibit the implementation of healthcare exchanges in New Hampshire. We applaud the House leadership for their work on legislation like this that increases the liberty and freedom of our residents and prevents increases in the size and scope of government. Both bills will now return to the Senate for consideration.
Third, THANK YOU to everyone who contacted their NH Senator last week regarding the proposed committee amendment to HB 1704 which would have made it more difficult for AFP-NH and other groups to put out information that might be deemed critical of elected officials.
Thanks to your efforts in support of political free speech, the Senate voted to table the bill.
Last week the Senate also laid on the table HB 1560, the Health Care Compact and HB 1418, which would increase the threshold amounts for taxation under the Business Enterprise Tax (BET).
We will keep you posted as this legislative session winds down.
In the meantime, here is how the remainder of the legislative calendar is laid out.
