Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire Praises House Passage of HB 1487
WINDHAM Americans for Prosperity (AFP) New Hampshire is praising the New Hampshire Houses passage today of HB 1487, which would require legislative approval of New Hampshires participation in any Low-Carbon Fuel Standard Program (LCFS). HB 1487 passed by a vote of 243-96.
Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire is pleased that the House passed HB 1487 which will help protect NH consumers from a hidden tax on fuel costs, said Corey Lewandowski, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire.
Lewandowski testified in support of the legislation in January before the House Science, Technology and Energy Committee, likening the LCFS program to another version of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).
NH ratepayers have already seen their electricity rates increased from the failed cap-and-trade scheme known as RGGI. I applaud Speaker Bill OBrien for trying to prevent another hidden tax from being passed along to the residents of the Granite State by passing HB 1487, Lewandowski added.
