The NH Senate is slated to vote on several important pieces of legislation TODAY including HB 1704, which includes an amendment that would make it more difficult for AFP-NH and other groups to put out information that might be deemed critical of elected officials.
This amendment is a direct assault on our free speech!
I urge you to contact your Senator IMMEDIATELY and let him or her know that you oppose this amendment to HB 1704! You can find your Senator and their contact information by CLICKING HERE.
Also today, the Senate is expected to vote on HB 1560, the Health Care Compact. Unfortunately, the Senate Health and Human Services Committee has recommended Interim Study for HB 1560. If the Senate at large agrees with the Committee’s recommendation, the bill will die.

WINDHAM We The People and Americans for Prosperity New Hampshire will host a rally on Thursday to coincide with President Obamas appearance in the state to discuss the economy. The event titled the Occupy Jobs Now Rally will take place at Nortons Diner, 233 Main Street in Nashua at 5:30PM.
"We The People is dedicated to preserving freedom, limited government and unlimited opportunity in America. Barack Obama 's failed policies crush all three. We must send a loud, clear message that NH rejects his "change" and demands a return to fiscal sanity, stated Jennifer Horn, President of We The People.

With the caveat that this primarys history-making moment may be ahead of us, here are 10 telling events from 2011.
1. Bachmann Fails History (March 12): Youre the state where the shot was heard around the world in Lexington and Concord, Michele Bachmann said more than once, with no sense of irony. The most avowed Tea Party candidate flubbed a basic fact about a seminal event of the American Revolution. Even among politicians, Bachmann has a talent for saying things that are demonstrably false in a completely convincing way. Although she rose to 18 percent in one New Hampshire poll in early July, her candidacy measures the limits of Tea Party appeal. At least she didnt go to Berlin to demand they tear down a wall.

When the New Hampshire House convenes Wednesday, advocates for and against a high-profile labor bill plan to rally in case lawmakers finally attempt to override a veto by Gov. John Lynch.
The fate of the right-to-work bill, which would ban unions from collecting fees from non-members, has been a key political question at the State House ever since Lynch vetoed the legislation and House Speaker Bill O'Brien said he would muster the supermajority needed to make it law anyway. But a late May session date, which O'Brien had named for the override, came and went. Union activists have demonstrated on House session days ever since.

- Ruling Represents a Victory for New Hampshire Taxpayers-
WINDHAM Today Americans for Prosperity (AFP) New Hampshire is applauding the New Hampshire Supreme Court decision to make public the names and pension amounts received by retired public employees.
The bottom line is what is done with public funds should be subject to public scrutiny, said Corey R. Lewandowski, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire. Every person in New Hampshire has the right to know how public funds are being spent and administered.
The ruling sets forth that both the names of the retired public employees and the pension amounts received are a matter of public information, as is the case with active public employees.
I applaud the Courts unanimous decision to make this information public, Lewandowski continued. This ruling represents a victory for New Hampshires taxpayers.
