WINDHAM Americans for Prosperity (AFP) New Hampshire is praising the New Hampshire Houses passage today of HB 1487, which would require legislative approval of New Hampshires participation in any Low-Carbon Fuel Standard Program (LCFS). HB 1487 passed by a vote of 243-96.
Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire is pleased that the House passed HB 1487 which will help protect NH consumers from a hidden tax on fuel costs, said Corey Lewandowski, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire.
Lewandowski testified in support of the legislation in January before the House Science, Technology and Energy Committee, likening the LCFS program to another version of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).

It's only fitting that a conservative activist group such as Americans for Prosperity would award a "conservative of the year" honor, and this year the acknowlegement will go to New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte.
A banquet will be held by AFP-NH to honor Ayotte at the Grappone Center in Concord on April 20.
AFP-NH Director Corey Lewandowski of Windham released a statement commenting on why Ayotte has been chosen for the recognition.
Senator Ayottes conservative credentials and her commitment to the people of New Hampshire are without question. We are honored that she has agreed to accept this award.
We hope this years event will allow activists from across New Hampshire to gather in recognition of the conservative track record that Senator Ayotte has already established in the U.S. Senate. During her tenure, she has proven to be a clear and consistent voice for conservative principles in Washington, D.C.

HONORING AYOTTE. The conservative issues group Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire is looking to duplicate the successful Conservative of the Year banquet it held last April, honoring current candidate for governor Ovide Lamontagne.
With several presidential candidates on hand, the event was viewed as the unofficial kickoff of the first-in-the-nation primary campaign. It also turned out to be the unofficial launch of Lamontagne's campaign.
This year's event, set for April 20 at the Grappone Center in Concord, will honor U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, who narrowly defeated Lamontagne in the 2010 September primary and has emerged as a key player, especially among freshmen Republicans, in the Senate.

People of the Granite State Deserve a Vote on Tax Increases
WINDHAM Americans for Prosperity (AFP) New Hampshire is urging members of the New Hampshire Senate to pass CACR 6, a proposed Constitutional Amendment that would require a 3/5 majority vote of the legislature for any increase in taxes or fees without an amendment that would alter the bill.
The people of New Hampshire deserve a say in how their tax dollars are spent and how and if their taxes can be raised, said Corey R. Lewandowski, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire. We support CACR 6 as passed by the House because it returns more control to the taxpayers in this state about how and if their taxes can be raised. Additionally it makes it more difficult for New Hampshire taxpayers to be burdened with the political whims of the legislature which might be tempted to increase taxes to pay for their spending programs.
