First, tomorrow the House Ways & Means Committee will hold a hearing on CACR 1, the so-called Super Majority Legislation. CACR 1 is a proposed Constitutional Amendment that would require a 3/5 majority vote, a.k.a. a Super Majority, of the legislature to increase any tax or fee.
CACR 1 was introduced by Representative Jordan Ulery (Hillsborough 37). Representative Ulery introduced the same legislation last year, known as CACR 6, but the bill failed to get the 3/5 vote in the House required to move forward.
We support CACR 1 because it makes it more difficult for taxes or fees to be increased. You can read more about it HERE.
Second, members of the legislature in Concord have introduced numerous pieces of legislation aimed at increasing you taxes. You can use these links to read more about our opposition to efforts to increases taxes on Beer and Gasoline.
Finally, thank you to everyone who submitted their nomination for the AFP Foundation NH Conservative of the Year award. We appreciate your input and will announce the recipient soon.
