Americans for Prosperity Launches Internet Ad Campaign to Support Petition Drive Opposing Massive Gas Tax Hike

March 22, 2013

MANCHESTER – Americans for Prosperity – New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today announced an Internet advertising campaign to help stop the major increase in the gas and diesel tax proposed in House Bill 617.  The ad campaign which highlights the impact of the gas tax hike on New Hampshire residents directs them to the petition opposing the gas and diesel tax hike.  The petition can be found at www.stopnhgastax.com.

“New Hampshire citizens are already struggling with the high price of gas and diesel and an economy that remains on the ropes so asking them to pay $3 more to fill up their tanks or $2.50 each time they fill up is still an outrageous and unwarranted hit in the wallet,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director.  “That’s why we are expanding our outreach to Granite Staters to make them aware of the massive gas and diesel tax hike that the House is planning to add onto their backs.  AFP-NH is committed to letting the hard working families and businesses in our state know about this extreme tax increase before it takes place, and to ensuring they have a chance to take action.”

The online ad campaign began yesterday and includes a number of different display ads.

“We certainly hope our representatives listen to their constituents and stop the economically disastrous gas and diesel tax increase when it comes up for a vote before the House next week,” added Moore.  “In addition to adding a crushing blow to our families, this bill will serve as a set back our state’s economy.  We need to find a way to get the 43,000 New Hampshire residents who are out of work back into the workforce.  This is the wrong bill at the wrong time, and we need to get our focus on creating jobs, not destroying them, as HB 617 will do.”
