Americans for Prosperity Comments on Passage of ObamaCare Medicaid Expansion in NH House

March 25, 2014

CONCORD – Americans for Prosperity – New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today offered the following comments in response to the New Hampshire House passing SB 413, a bill to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, commonly called ObamaCare.

“ObamaCare is bad medicine for New Hampshire and it will hurt the over 20,000 New Hampshire residents who are dumped from their private health insurance into an underperforming Medicaid system,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director.  “This law will also mean longer waits for people in emergency rooms, as Medicaid expansion means even greater use or inappropriate use of ER services.  Couple those real world impacts to the fact that, under ObamaCare, an expanded Medicaid program will cost New Hampshire taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars, and it’s clear that this is both bad politics and bad policy.”
