CONCORD – Americans for Prosperity – New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today applauded Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Morse for his continuing commitment to a responsible state budget. Chairman Morse is serving as the lead budget negotiator for the Senate during the committee of conference on the state budget.
“Chairman Morse has been unwavering in his commitment to advocating for a responsible budget that reflects the needs of New Hampshire taxpayers by ensuring the state learns to live within its means rather than looking to residents and businesses to pay more taxes to increase unnecessary state spending,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director. “The Senate budget grows government at a reasonable rate and eliminates numerous troubling aspects of both the House and the Governor’s budgets.”
AFP-NH specifically signaled support for Chairman Morse’s opposition to Medicaid expansion as well as the absence of any new tax or fee increases or inflated revenue sources in the Senate budget.
“Chairman Morse understands that our economy is still recovering and as such the budget the Senate has presented gives taxpayers and businesses the tools they need to move toward recovery, grow our economy and create jobs,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director. “We applaud Chairman Morse on a job well done and hope the final budget will reflect the common sense, reasonable attributes he has set forth.”
