Would-Be Attorney General Fails to Understand Current Nevada Law
Yesterday the deadline passed for Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller to appeal a district court judge’s decision to throw out the lawsuit that Miller brought against Americans for Prosperity. Miller has admitted he will not appeal, settling the case in favor of Americans for Prosperity. In response to the unchallenged decision, AFP-NV state director Adam Stryker offered the following statement:
“This ruling was a victory for free speech and grassroots advocacy. It was also a powerful blow against over-reaching partisans attempting to silence the voices of the Nevada taxpayers. From the beginning, AFP has stated that these charges were frivolous, motivated by Secretary Miller’s own partisan bias and blind ambition for higher office, and should be dismissed.
“We are happy to see the court dismiss this attack on the free speech of AFP, our activists and the citizens of Nevada. It seems that Ross Miller spent more time getting ready for his next UFC fight or palling around with Playboy Playmate Holly Madison, than he did reading up on the laws of his own state.
“AFP will continue with its mission in the state of representing Nevada’s hard working taxpayers in the fight for economic freedom and limited government.”
