Wisconsin Achieves Economic Freedom

June 12, 2012

The state of Wisconsin has set precedence for what is likely to happen throughout the country. As cities are seeking ways to balance their budget in order to match the current recession, the reasonable move is to ask the unions to match their contracts as well. The citizens of Wisconsin, like the rest of Americans, have taken a stand with policies like those that Governor Scott Walker enacted. This truly is a historic moment in history as Gov. Walker was not just the third governor to ever be recalled but the first to survive it. These recall results echo across the nation that the majority supports the most feasible solution to bloated union contracts and that is with reasonable concessions.

Cities across America can now take a little sigh of relief as they look at the support that Wisconsin’s Gov. Walker and Lt. Governor Kleefish received after making the hard but right choices.  Their reforms pulled Wisconsin out of its over $3 billion deficit and subsequently created more than 32,000 jobs. Additionally they saved the taxpayers over $1 billion.   These bold moves are exactly what America needs to reclaim its famous catch phrase, “The Land of Opportunity.”
