And So It Begins...
Yesterday, October 1, brought the start of open enrollment on the ObamaCare insurance exchanges around the country and already prices are soaring in Nevada. When Nevadans log onto the ObamaCare exchanges, they’ll be facing premium hikes of nearly 145 percent in many cases.
A 40-year old Nevada man can expect to see 142 percent higher premiums, on average, while a Nevada woman of the same age will face a roughly 72 percent increase in costs before subsidies are calculated, according to a recent report in Forbes.
For the higher costs they can expect to find less freedom to choose their own doctor or local hospital. TheNew York Times recently reported that many insurers are significantly limiting the choices of doctors and hospitals available to consumers as a cost-saving measure due to the new law.
While Nevadans are stuck with more expensive, lower quality care, some of President Obama’s friends are getting an exemption from the law. Grassroots activists around the country have signed the group’s Exempt Me, Too! petition, asking the President for the same special treatment better-connected groups have received.
When Nevada taxpayers see the prices they’ll be charged for their coverage, I expect more of them than ever to begin asking where their ObamaCare exemption is. It’s time for the President to do us
all a favor and exempt the country from this law, not just well-connected groups and allies.
If you haven’t already done so, please sign our JustExempt.me petition today, declaring that it’s time for the
President to give all Americans an exemption from ObamaCare. Then, forward this email to your friends and urge them to sign the petition, too!
